Specialist for Visceral Surgery
Born and raised in Vienna and Lower Austria, I studied medicine at the venerable Alma Mater Rudolphina, the University of Vienna. My study-related activities took me to the universities of Chicago, Toronto and Beijing as part of international internships.
After graduating, I moved to Munich with my family and was able to undergo a multifaceted surgical training. With Prof. Dr. N. Nüssler at the Munich Clinic Neuperlach I was able to gain a deep knowledge of both the planned and emergency surgical treatment of patients, e.g. with gallstone disease, diverticular disease or hernias. My surgical training was also enriched by my activities in emergency medicine.
After being recognized as a specialist, I also gained special expertise in the care of complex hernias.
Minimally invasive techniques and open surgical methods in the entire surgical spectrum are equally used and selected according to individual requirements.
To deepen my knowledge and surgical skills in the upper gastrointestinal tract and in particular in oncological visceral surgery, e.g. in tumor diseases of the rectum and colon, I switched to work with Prof. Agha in the Munich Clinic Bogenhausen in June 2020.
Regular participation in interdisciplinary training courses and international congresses are an expression of my constant aspiration to work on the pulse of the times. Entrusted with the training of young colleagues, I succeed in building bridges into the future.
The focus of my work is humanity. Trusting, open and personal advice as well as a careful assessment of the benefits and risks of an operation for every individual patient entrusted to me are essential for the success of the treatment.
Since March 2022 I have been strengthening the team of Prof. Dr. Kasparek and Dr. Weindl in surgery in the Josephinum.
